Tatum O’Neal is a popular Oscar Award-winning American actress and author. Having made her film debut in the 1973 American comedy drama ‘Paper Moon’ at the age of ten, her brilliant performance in the film made her the youngest person to win an Oscar. Born in Los Angeles, California, into a family of film stars, her father Ryan O’Neal’s influence helped her earn her first role when she was only a child. Following the massive success of this film, she continued to appear in films such as ‘The Bad News Bears’ and ‘International Velvet.’ Despite having found both success and fame quite early on, O’Neal, in the later years of her life, got addicted to drugs. In 2008, she was arrested on charges of buying drugs near her apartment building when she was found with two bags full of cocaine. In her autobiography A Paper Life’, she revealed most of the reasons that had led her to drug addiction, one of which was severe emotional abuse by her father. Her latest significant appearance in films was in 2010, in the movie ‘Last Will’, where she played the lead role. |
