He started playing cricket when he was 11 years old, played his first Test match when he was 16 against Pakistan in Karachi on November 15, 1989, and played for Mumbai both domestically and internationally for close to 24 years. Sachin holds the record for the most runs scored in an ODI and a Test match, is the only player to score more than 30,000 runs in international cricket, and is the first batsman to score a double century in a One Day International.
