One of the most brilliant singers, Rick James has an array of No.1 hits on the U.S. R&B charts to his credit. He began his journey into the world of music as a young teenager, who would sing in the street corners of his neighborhood, in Buffalo. It was during this time that he was drawn into the violence, drugs and street crime, a habit that will come to haunt him in his later years. One of the pioneers of the genre of funk music, he is best known for his massive funk hits Super Freak and ‘Give It to Me Baby. This riveting performer brought with him an aura of brilliance and when he performed on stage he mesmerised audiences with his adrenaline-charged, exhilarating performances.
