Personal Fact of Peyton Manning | |
Peyton Williams Manning is an American football quarterback for the Denver Broncos of the National Football League (NFL). Before that he had a successful run with the Indianapolis Colts for fourteen seasons. He started out by playing college football for the University of Tennessee and later the Indianapolis Colts selected him to play for their team. Although he suffered from minor setbacks in his rookie year but over the next 13 years, Manning became unquestionably the game’s best quarterback and the face of a high-powered Colts team that regularly contended for the NFL’s top record. In 2011, he underwent neck surgery to lessen the neck pain and arm weakness before signing a five-year, $90 million contract extension with the Colts but he did not play for the whole season since his condition did not allow it and in the following year the Colts released him, and the Broncos singed him on. Before the 2013 season had even finished, the Sports Illustration named him their Sportsman of the Year. Manning is also a writer and authored and co-authored two books with his father, former NFL quarterback Archie Manning, and elder brother of New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning. |
