Lee Grant is a famous American stage, television and film actress. She soon proved herself as a theatrical actress, both on and off Broadway, receiving superior acknowledgment for her role as a shoplifter in the play, Detective Story.

After she became famous overnight in this role, she was cast in the film version of the same, making her presence felt and doing an outstanding job in her first onscreen role.
