She is of is of English and Scottish lineage from her mother’s side and Norwegian and Irish ancestry from her father’s side. Though a naturally shy personality, she has mentioned that people had identified her as a comedian ever since childhood.

Kristen Wiig began her career through performances with comedy troops and live television comedy shows, working her way up steadily, and consequently making a mark for herself in comedy genre. She found her way into feature films in 2007.
