Julia O’Hara Stiles is an American actress who started her acting career as early as eleven. Beginning her journey with the stage and television she soon picked up prominent roles in teen classic films. Her acting debut was in theatre with the La MaMa Theatre Company at the age of eleven. Moving on she worked with other productions emulating prominent characters in plays including The Vagina Monologues, Twelfth Night and Oleanna. She made television appearance in the early 90s with the series Ghostwriter where she essayed the role of Erica Dansby. She went on to do single episodes of other series and was nominated for the Primetime Emmy Award and the Golden Globe Award for her performance in the TV series Dexter as Lumen Pierce. She moved towards the big screen after the mid-90s with a small part in the film I Love You, I Love You Not and moved on with several other films until her breakthrough movie 10 Things I Hate About You. Her career progressed further with other lead roles in films such as Save the Last Dance, The Business of Strangers, Mona Lisa Smile and The Omen. |
