Personal Fact of Jared Leto | |
Jared Leto is an actor cum musician who was critically praised for his portrayal of the heroin addict Harry Goldfarb in the film Requiem for a Dream. He began his acting career in a cameo appearance in the television sitcom Camp Wilder before moving on to more substantial roles. A major television breakthrough came in the form of an offer to play Jordan Catalano in the teen drama My So-Called Life which ensured that the hitherto little-known actor got noticed. Desiring to further his career he made his entry into Hollywood with the film How to Make an American Quilt. However, it was his role in Prefontaine which earned him critical acclaim as an actor and enabled him to bag leading roles in the future. One of the most challenging roles he has ever played was that of drug addict Harry Goldfarb in Requiem for a Dream for which he received rave reviews. Deciding to explore his musical streak, he formed the rock band 30 Seconds to Mars with his brother Shannon Leto and some friends. The band experimented with progressive metal, alternative rock, hard rock, emo, and synthrock in their music. Their lyrics were full of philosophical and spiritual allusions reflecting the style of their idol Pink Floyd. |
