Doug Ducey is the 23rd Governor of the state of Arizona. Belonging to the Republican Party he succeeded Governor Jan Brewer who could not contest the 2014 election due to term limits. Ducey overcame the challenge posed by seven other Republican candidates in the party’s primary nomination and also overtook opponents like Democrat Fred Duval, Libertarian Barry Hess and many other candidates from other parties. His stated mission is to make the state of Arizona the best state in the country to live in, do business in and to get the best education from. He had inherited the governance of the state with a budget deficit of almost $1 billion dollars which he had been able to overcome. He is committed to economic growth, creation of jobs, promotion of educational excellence, restoration of fiscal responsibilities and the protection of all the people living in the state. His vision is to make Arizona a strong state which ensures that there is Opportunity for All and he has pledged to work hard every day of his governorship to convert his vision into reality. |
