Robert John Bob Odenkirk is an award winning American comedian, writer, actor, director and producer. He is best known for his role as a corrupt lawyer, Saul Goodman, in AMC’s crime drama series Breaking Bad and its spin-off Better Call Saul. He is also famous for the sketch-comedy series Mr. Show with Bob and David, which he developed and starred in with his stand-up comedian friend, David Cross. Born in Illinois, Bob began his career while still in the university at Carbondale, by hosting a radio comedy show. He later moved to Chicago and began working on improv workshops. In 1987, he joined the Saturday Night live television show as a writer. Since then, he has written for Late Night with Conan O’Brien, The Ben Stiller Show, and The Dennis Miller Show, among others. For the comedian duo Tim & Eric, he produced the television series Tom Goes to the Mayor and Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job. This apart, he has also directed three feature films, including the critically acclaimed Melvin Goes to Dinner (2003) and made appearances in several notable movies. In 2017, he will be seen again in the third season of the television series, Better Call Saul, which had already won him a Critics’ Choice Television Award for Best Actor in 2016. |
